The Grunge look has either just been "discovered" or, more likely, come around again.  In any case, with
more tools in the newer Photoshops it becomes new.

Erica Belton, of The Digital Scrapbook Place offered a tutorial on getting started with Grunge to
accompany a challenge. You can find the tutorial here.  It is only 6 steps to get you started, but you will
soon be playing around with settings and backgrounds, masks and overlays.  Here are some of mine.
